Many young women in the Netherlands use sanitary pads when having their period. Sanitary pads were most popular among the youngest girls, aged 12 to 15 years old. Of this age group, nearly 88 percent said to sometimes use sanitary pads. Among the 21 to 25 years old, this was just over 75 percent.
