In the second semester of 2021, the percentage of the minutes played by international professional footballers in the Mexican Liga MX between July and December 2021 went up when compared to the same period of the previous year. The same development can be seen in the Brazilian professional soccer league. By contrast, international players in Chile and Argentina were fielded more in the second half of 2021 than in the same months of 2020.
