According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the state of happiness, 44 percent of the Indian respondents stated that the well-being of their country gives them a sense of great happiness. However, 13 percent of the surveyed respondents stated this factor was not influential in their sense of happiness. Globally, around 79 percent of respondents stated that their country's well-being made them happy.

According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens. As such, the results should be viewed as reflecting the views of a more 'connected population'.
