About 32 percent of Japanese respondents stated that the time they spent on social media contributes to some extent to their personal happiness, according to a survey conducted in June 2019 by Ipsos on happiness. Among 28 countries surveyed, Japan showed the lowest share of respondents claiming to gain greatest happiness from using social media, outdone only by Russia and Serbia.
