Immigration has always been part of human history. However, it is still one of society's most controversial topics. According to this Ipsos survey, most people in Belgium do not think the country would be better off if all immigrants were let in.
In 2019, 61 percent of respondents in Belgium did not agree with this scenario. 22 percent of them neither agreed nor disagreed with it, meaning that one out of five people did not believe Belgium would be better off, yet without rejecting the eventuality.
However, 12 percent of respondents stated that the country would be better off by letting all immigrants who want to be there in the country. Many European countries try to regulate this phenomenon. Nowadays, most migrations relate to the economy, yet environmental migration is a growing concern.
