In 2018, the majority of Italian online shoppers were aware of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital services. According to a survey conducted on a sample representative of 13.5 million online shoppers, nine in ten individuals knew that voice assistant used artificial intelligence. The awareness was slightly lower for travel booking services: 74 percent of the respondents knew that AI and machine learning were used in the travel industry as well.
