Per capita capacity of cement clinker production in India 2022, by region

The per capita production capacity of integrated cement/clinker in South India amounted to 724 kilograms as of 2022. South India had the largest per capita cement production capacity of any Indian region at that time by a large margin. East India, which had India's lowest cement production capacity at that time, had a production capacity of 29 kilograms per capita despite the fact that it has a higher concentration of cement grinding plants than other parts of India. Several new integrated/clinker plants have been recently built in East India, with more proposed to be built in the future. The presence (or lack thereof) of limestone reserves is also a partial explanation for the differential production capacity of cement throughout India.
