Perception of control over own life contributing to happiness in Japan 2019
A large share of Japanese respondents, about 49 percent, stated that feeling in control of one's life contributes to some extent to their personal happiness, according to a survey conducted in June 2019 by Ipsos on happiness. Among 28 countries in the survey, Japan showed the lowest share of respondents claiming to gain happiness from the feeling of self-determination, outdone only by South Korean respondents.
