Share of people who believe a strong leader is needed to fix Belgium 2016-2019
A certain aspiration for a stronger leader seems to exist in Belgium. According to an Ipsos survey, a majority of Belgian respondents agreed that fixing their country would require a strong leader. Assuming that the country is "broken", this leader should be willing to break the rules.
54 percent of Belgian respondents stated the need for a stronger leader in 2016. In 2018, a similar share of respondents shared this view. However, nearly two thirds of respondents agreed to this statement the following year. Such an opinion was therefore on a rise over this period of time.
