Share of people who believe a stronger leader is needed to fix Belgium 2016-2019
A wish for a stronger leader seems to exist in Belgium. According to this Ipsos survey, a majority of Belgian respondents agreed that fixing their country requires a strong leader. Assuming that the country is "broken", this leader should be willing to break the rules.
54 percent of Belgian respondents stated the need for a stronger leader in 2016. In 2018, a similar share of respondents shared this view. However, two-thirds of respondents agreed to this statement the following year. Such an opinion was therefore on a rise in 2019.
