Zinc was the non-ferrous metal with the greatest share of electricity costs on total production costs in the European Union in 2019. 38.5 percent of production costs for Zinc went towards electricity generation. This was closely followed by aluminum, which was also the most expensive non-ferrous metal to produce in terms of electricity usage.
