Consumers in the United States and Canada were largely unaware of the difference in effects between THC and CBD in 2019. Over two-thirds of consumers in both countries did not know of or thought there was no difference in the effects of these cannabinoids. CBD (cannabidiol) is the non-psychoactive cousin of THC, the chemical which creates the high in marijuana.
