Between 2016 and 2018, then number of electric cars used in car sharing services in Italy more than doubled, passing from 310 to 670. This increase was largely due to car sharing services that used only battery electric vehicles, such as Bluetorino in Turin. Overall, in 2018 electric cars represented about 11 percent of the car sharing fleet in the country.
