Opinion of smokers on intended smoking ban in pachinko parlors in Japan 2018
A survey conducted between November and December 2018 in Japan revealed that almost 45 percent of smoking pachinko players would be indifferent to the possibility of smoking being banned from parlors, while 11.6 percent stated that they would not visit establishments with a ban anymore. That year, the Japanese government enforced stricter laws on smoking in public areas in light of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, with intentions of extending a smoking ban to pachinko parlors.
