In 2022, the Northwest repository of China received around 2,047 cubic meters of low to mid level nuclear waste. This was the second largest of the five nuclear repositories currently operating in China, with a total volume of nuclear waste amounting of over 29,000 cubic meters. The Guangdong Beilong waste repository did not accept any nuclear waste in 2022.
