Attitudes towards EU membership in the Netherlands 1996-2018

In 2018, a sizable share of people surveyed in the Netherlands indicated that they saw EU membership as a positive thing. 65 percent of survey respondents thought that it is a good thing that the Netherlands is a member of the European Union. Although this figure marked a ten percent decrease in comparison to 1996, it was also an increase of roughly ten percent compared to 2015, when Dutch confidence in EU membership dropped to approximately 55 percent.
