Russians on physical traits that make women beautiful 2019, by gender

In general terms, physical traits seemed to be significantly defining women's beauty in the eyes of Russian people, as the study by Ipsos revealed. The most mentioned features were facial and skin appearances, supported by roughly 70 percent of survey participants. Every third man reported makeup and cosmetics as an influencing factor of making a woman more beautiful.

Perception of female beauty in Russia

    Along with the aforementioned physical beauty attributes, happiness was the most important personality trait complementing female beauty according to Russians. Happiness listed in the leading positions as the personality feature defining women’s beauty across other countries included in the study as well. Regarding the height, tall individuals were undoubtedly seen as more attractive, yet men were preferred to be somewhat taller than women.

Perception of male beauty in Russia

   Sexiness was revealed to be the defining factor of male beauty according to both gender representatives in Russia in 2019. Societal standards also seemed to be more demanding regarding the body weight and shape for men than for their female counterparts. Namely, this physical trait ranked as second most important for male beauty, while for women it listed in the sixth place. Interestingly, brown and black were more favored shades of hair for men, both in Russia and worldwide.
