Did you know that dogs and cats can also be covered by health insurance? According to this survey, roughly three out of four owners in Belgium were aware that such insurances exist. Yet in 2019, the percentage of owners possessing such a contract was very low.
In Belgium, dog owners seemed slightly more aware of animal health insurance than cat owners. Furthermore, six percent of dog owners had their pets health insured, whereas only two percent of owners had health insurance for their cats.
