In 2019, 230 startups in Brazil received venture capital investments, up from 122 companies a year earlier. This figure has been steadily increasing since 2016, when the number of startups financed with venture capital in the country added up to 84. There were around 692 million U.S. dollars worth of venture capital investments in Brazilian startups during the first semester of 2020.
