Revenue of Viva Republica 2016-2023

In 2023, Viva Republica, the company behind the South Korean financial services platform Toss, saw its consolidated sales revenue reach about 1.37 trillion South Korean won, up from about 1.2 trillion won in the previous year. Over the past five years, Viva Republica's revenue has increased more than 11-fold. 

South Korea's financial super app Toss 

Launched in 2015, Toss is a financial services app operated by Viva Republica. This innovative app offers a wide range of financial services, such as peer-to-peer money transfers, bill payments, investment management, and insurance services. Toss has rapidly attracted approximately 20 million users by offering easy-to-use, convenient, and intuitive app features. As of December 2023, Toss was valued at approximately seven billion U.S. dollars, firmly establishing itself as South Korea's leading unicorn company. 

Fintech trends in South Korea

The fintech market in South Korea has seen significant growth in recent years, driven by the need for easier payment methods in the booming e-commerce sector. Several providers now offer payment services via mobile phones, such as Naver Pay, KakaoPay, Toss, and Samsung Pay. Major retailers like Coupang, Shinsegae, and 11street have also developed their own payment services.
