Market share of modern grocery retailers in Turkey 2008-2022

In 2018, the market share of the modern grocery retailers surpassed the fifty percent mark for the first time over the period under consideration. On the other hand, due to their low presence in rural areas traditional grocery retailers were still the main way of grocery shopping in these areas. In 2022, the market share of modern groceries reached the highest percentage in the entire period with almost 65.8 percent.
