According to data provided by EV-Volumes, hybrid electric vehicles maintained their standing as the most commonly sold type of electric vehicle in Germany in 2017 and 2018. This was despite a significant increase in the number of mild hybrid electric vehicles sold, which jumped from 5,040 units sold in 2017 to 45,494 units the following year.
A ranking by Dataforce found Toyota Yaris to be the most popular alternatively fueled passenger car in the country in 2018.
