In 2024, the Collingwood Magpies was the Australian Football League club with the highest number of club memberships, with their club boasting over 110 thousand members. Meanwhile the club with the fewest memberships was the Gold Coast Suns, with around 26 thousand club memberships.

Notably, the AFL said revenue generated from the Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) program has tripled year-on-year, underlining the growth in popularity of women’s sports in the country.
