In 2018, 34 percent of the Swedish respondents found that fund savings was the best way for saving money on a long term basis. This was especially the case for the female respondents (39 percent), while the male respondents (30 percent) were less inclined to believe so. In contrast, 14 percent of the male respondents found that direct stock ownership was better in terms of long-term savings, while only six percent of the female respondents thought so. During this year, only one percent of the Swedes thought that treasury bonds was the best saving method.
