During a 2019 survey of global PR professionals, it was found that 47 percent of their media revenue was generated by earned media (traditional media) while 18 percent was attributed to shared media such as social networks and influencers. Five years from now, shared media are expected to account for 23 percent of PR firm revenues and traditional media share could decrease by 10 percent.
