According to a survey conducted by YouGov in 2019, Italians had limited knowledge about technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and Internet of Things. Six in ten respondents wished that companies would help users understand these technologies better. Furthermore, 65 percent of respondents believed that both the private and the public sector should be more transparent about how they used these tools.
