Scottish UK election results 1918-2019

In 2019, the Scottish National Party had the highest share of Scottish votes in the 2019 UK General Election at 45 percent. This was a decline from their best showing in 2015 when they earned half of all Scottish votes, more than doubling the share of votes they received in 2010.

*Results until 1964 include the vote share that went to the Unionist Party in Scotland, an independent party whose MPs sat as Conservatives at Westminster, until they merged fully with the Scottish Conservatives in 1965.

Between 1918 and 1981 the Liberal Democrats were known as the Liberal Party, and between 1981 and 1988 were the SDP/Liberal Alliance.
