The volume of emissions of manganese and its compounds from stationary sources in Russia sharply increased by more than 45 percent between 2017 and 2018, reaching nearly 1.5 million metric tons in the latest year observed. This was approximately 590 thousand metric tons higher than the emissions volume recorded in 2016.
