The apparent steel use per capita in India at the end of 2021 accounted for around 81 kilograms. It was the highest during the presented period of time. There was a constant rise in this value until 2020, mostly due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. It was also well below the global average per capita ASU, which was approximately 222 kg during the same time. The total apparent steel use of India during the measured time was around 115 million metric tons.
