The apparent steel use (ASU) of alloy steel in India at the end of fiscal year 2018 accounted for over eight million metric tons. The ASU was estimated to be over ten million metric tons at the end of fiscal year 2019. The ASU per capita in India was approximately 70 kilograms during the measured time period.
