According to a survey in Malaysia conducted in December 2018, 80 percent of respondents who claimed to eat reasonably healthily were of the opinion that eating healthily was more expensive than eating unhealthily. Malaysia has one of the highest rates of obesity in Asia, and has recently introduced a sugar tax to combat obesity.
