In 2019, the news consumption among the younger generation of Danes was quite different when compared to the rest of the population. For example, nearly 80 percent of the respondents in the youngest age group had used social media as a news source within the pask week, while this was the case for roughly 60 percent of the respondents between 35 and 54 years. In comparison, national television was the primary news source for the older generations. Here, more than 81 percent of the respondents between 55 and 69 years updated themselves on news in the preceding week. Magazines and journals were the least popular news sources for all of the respondents.
