In 2017, the prevalence rate of HIV among men aged 15 to 49 years in Chile amounted to 0.8 percent. Meanwhile, for women of the same age group, this figured added up to 0.3 percent. In 2018, more than 5.7 thousand men, as well as nearly 1.2 thousand women were newly diagnosed with HIV in the country.
