Domestic airmail transport distance on main routes in Japan in FY 2013-2017
In fiscal year 2017, the payload distance of postal mail transported via domestic air transportation on trunk lines in Japan amounted to around 43 million ton-kilometers, making up the majority of the domestic airmail transport. Airmail is commonly transported domestically as air freight on passenger flights operated by the major Japanese airlines Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways.
