According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in Japan in 2022, 42 percent of the female respondents had connected fitness apps to their smartwatches or wearable fitness or activity trackers. While the share among men was almost equally high in this regard, differences were more pronounced when it came to other types of apps, such as mobile payment apps.
