The value of carpets, mats, matting and tapestries exported from Turkey totaled about 2.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The exports of this product group staggeringly increased throughout the period from 2001 to 2021. After peaking in 2021, the value of carpets and other flooring materials exported from Turkey dropped from 2022. In comparison, Turkey's export trade of carpets had amounted to a little over 250 million US dollars in 2001.
Turkey is among the leading textile exporters worldwide. The country comes shortly behind the greatest global textile suppliers such as China, India and the US, and with a value of 15 million US dollars textile exports.
