Amar Ujala was ranked as the fastest growing daily newspaper in India between 2014 and 2017 in terms of its average issue readership which was over 50 percent. Notably, none of the English language newspapers made it to this list since most of the English newspapers in the country saw a massive drop in readership ratings. On the other hand, the Daily Thanthi was the only newspaper amongst the leading newspapers which had a 16 percent drop in its readership in the stated time frame.
