According to a survey in September 2022 by Rakuten Insight on wearable tech, Apple and Samsung were well-known brands among all age groups among Malaysian respondents, with 80 percent of respondents between the ages of 16 and 24 said they know of Apple Watch. Younger respondents were also aware of Huawei and other brands that offer wearable tech. In the same survey, about half of the respondents stated that they owned a smart wearable.
