Return on equity of banks in Denmark 2009-2020
The return on equity (ROE) of banks in Denmark was negative during the first year of the observed period, but was higher during the following years. ROE is an important measure of a country's banking sectors profitability. From 2014 the ROE of the Danish banking sector increased until its peak in 2017 at 14.2 percent. In 2020, the ROE had decreased again, down to 2.9 percent.
