Countries with the highest increase in number of measles cases between 2017 and 2018
In the year 2018, 53,218 measles cases were recorded in Ukraine, versus 4,782 for the previous year. The statistic illustrates the countries with the highest increase in number of measles cases between the years 2017 and 2018. A UNICEF warning issued in March 2019 stated that cases of measles around the world were surging to 'alarmingly high levels'. The 10 countries in the statistics account for 74 percent of the global increase, which is a source of serious concern for public health professionals.
