According to a youth survey conducted across eight cities in India in May 2019, it was found that youngsters in metro cities read extra curriculum books more frequently than those from non-metro cities. 32 percent of youth living in metro cities had read a book in the week preceding the survey time period, while 25 percent of youth in non-metro cities had reported the same.
