In Iceland, looking at the population by marital status, married people living with a spouse made up the largest group with over 121,000 individuals. Unmarried singles made up the second highest number with 90,000, followed by around 30,000 unmarried individuals in a consensual union. Moreover, the marital status of 31,000 people was not known.
