In 2020, the Japanese telecommunications company NTT Docomo reached a market capitalization of 12.5 trillion Japanese yen. NTT Docomo, Inc. is a subsidiary of the NTT group and was the leading mobile carrier in Japan in 2020, with a market share of almost 44 percent of all mobile phone subscribers in Japan. In 2020, Docomo was taken private by NTT through the largest tender offer ever completed by a Japanese company.
