Due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of visitors to the United States from Portugal decreased significantly in 2020 over the previous year. Overall, the U.S. recorded roughly 24,000 travelers from Portugal in 2020. In 2021, the number of visitors to the U.S. from Portugal exceeded 25,000, and, in 2022, it rose to almost 127,000. By 2023, there were 156,612 arrivals of Portuguese residents.
