U.S. awareness with privacy regulations and guidelines 2019

According to an April 2019 survey conducted among adults in the United States, 58 percent of respondents stated they had never heard of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Furthermore, only 16 percent of respondents reported to knowing the basics of the standard. In comparison, 46 percent of respondents knew the basics about the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
