The number of spam text messages received by Americans has been growing in the past few years, reaching on average 14.7 phone text messages per month in 2020, up from 6.3 calls in 2015. The number of spam calls also increased from 2015 to 2019, but saw a slight decline in 2020 when it went from 31.7 calls per month in 2019 to 28 calls per month in 2020.
