According to a survey on substance use in India, it was found that between December 2017 and October 2018, Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of people who were using drugs through intravenous methods. Punjab and Delhi followed Uttar Pradesh with over 85 thousand people who inject drugs. Findings of the survey estimate that there were a total of 850 thousand people across the country using intravenous drugs.
