According to a survey on substance use in India between December 2017 and October 2018, the north-eastern state of Sikkim had the highest share of users of sedative drugs with about three percent of total users. The lowest use of sedatives was seen in the state of Bihar where just about 0.01 percent of respondents were current users of such drugs during the measured time.
