Foreign debt of Russia 2013-2022, by sector
As of December 31, 2022, Russia's business sector accounted for the largest portion of the country's external debt, measuring at 304 billion U.S. dollars. The government's foreign debt reached 66 billion U.S. dollars. The debt of the Central Bank and the national banking sector decreased by one billion U.S. dollars compared to the previous year. In total, Russia's foreign debt was estimated at nearly 382 billion U.S. dollars as of the beginning of 2023.
