Share of alcohol consumers in India 2017-2018 by state
According to a survey on substance use in India between December 2017 and October 2018, the states with highest prevalence of alcohol use were Chhattisgarh at 35.6 percent, Tripura with 34.7 percent and Punjab at 28.5 percent. Additionally, it was observed that in all three of these states, more than half of the male population were regular users of alcohol.
